Things became inactive and random for me for the past months. Priorities are really random as well.
Many happened too. I'll tell you my stories, so feel free to get some snacks while you read my totally long journal entry. (Don't worry, they're not rants)
At one point, my Mac mini stopped working. I'm a PC fan myself, and I only have a Mac exclusively for iOS development. I was worried that I have to buy another Apple computer, but of course I went looking for technicians and engineers first. Turns out it's just the adapter failing. I started cursing at first, claiming "The ever so famous Apple that makes quality products just failed on me randomly? What the hell!" Technicians can't fix it, so I bought another adapter from an online shop instead. When I finally got it, I read the details on the label and realized it's a 110V adapter. I was inserting the old adapter on a 220V socket for months. It was me who's doing it wrong, lol, I take back my words. I even became more than impressed, knowing it's a 110V and it survived on a 220V socket for months, when normally 110V appliances fail the instant they get inserted on a 220V socket. (Like how my 110V Wii adapter popped)
Thanks Apple. (No sarcasm)
Another story I got is my Intuos 4L that became unusable for months because the mini-USB hubs are busted. I looked everywhere back then, ranging from computer technicians to electric engineers. They all refused to work on it because they claim it's too small and fragile. I didn't want to have to settle to an official Wacom center because I know it'll cost me a fortune. In the end, it only took me 200 pesos (5 bucks) to have it repaired successfully..... From a cellphone repair shop. It only took them an hour to fix it too, and now I'm using it like it wasn't broken before.
Awesommme
Another one is, I was looking for ways to get something close to Cintiq, without having to pay a minimum of a thousand bucks.
There are some alternatives that I found so far:
TabletMod:
[link] Basically, you place an LCD or LED of a laptop on top of an Intuos. (there are other details, like cables of course)
AirDisplay:
[link] It's where you make your iPod touch, iPhone, or iPad into a secondary monitor, and have touch input as well. Although no pen-pressure, and a bit laggy.
Adonit Jot Touch
[link] A pen for iPad that have pen-pressure via bluetooth. Sadly, it's limited to supported apps. (And it's a hundred bucks)
Yiynova:
[link] (Credit goes to *
sasokity for discovering that, via journal:
[link]) It's basically a not-exclusively-made-for-rich-guys-only version of Cintiq. (in short cheaper)
Lastly, it took me exactly 3 weeks to finish this one:
[link]Other than those, I got nothing anymore. I gotta go back to finishing the iOS game again. (And do commissions for bills while I'm at it)
Kinda depressing though, this iOS game was already in development since the first release of iPad. Now iPhone5 is already out, and it's still not done...
